RED CHILE SAUCE (PODS) Serves 4 - 6

14oz package LOMA VISTA chili pods (hot or mild)

2 cloves whole peeled garlic or 1 1/2 tbsp. garlic powder

1 tsp. salt

3 cups water

Wipe chili pods with a damp paper towel to remove any dust, dirt, etc. Remove stems and seeds (if hotter chili sauce is desired, do not remove seeds). Place chili pods, garlic, salt and water in blender and puree until smooth about 3 - 5 minutes.

Mix with cooked meat mixture (see below), add 1 cup water to chili and meat mixture and boil for 10 minutes on medium heat.

To cook the chili sauce without meat, simply add 1/2 cup water and boil for 10 minutes on medium heat.

MEAT MIXTURE

1 lb. lean ground beef (or any meat as desired) 1 tbsp. diced onion 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper

Brown meat, onion and salt on medium heat until cooked thoroughly. Drain meat mixture and add chili sauce.

Cooked chili sauce freezes well.

This chili sauce with or without the meat mixture is very versatile.
